Paramont Contura, LLC of 5703 Crutchfield Drive, Norton, VA 24273, is applying for a Revision to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. 0082198, to add additional NPDES discharge monitoring points. The site is located off of State Route 63 approximately 3.8 miles southeast of McClure on McClure Creek in Dickenson County. State plane northing and easting coordinates of the site are approximately 3,567,900 and 10,365,350, respectively. The Nora, Virginia USGS 7.5 Minute Topographic Quadrangle Map was used to describe the location of the proposed discharge area.

Treated surface water runoff will pass through proposed sediment control structures: Pond 4/Outfall 004 and Pond 5/Outfall 005. Both outfalls will discharge to McClure Creek. The Surface Water Hydrology map shows the discharge locations and is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of May 1, 2024, submit written comments or objections concerning application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
