PAUL HENRY YATES

Paul Henry Yates, age 77 of Haysi passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tn.  Born in Dickenson County he was a son of the late David Earl and Gusta Alice Gilbert Yates.  He was a retired coal miner and attended Bee Pentecostal Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Karen Toney Yates and brothers and sisters, Starling Yates, Jess Yates, Helen Lambert, Virgie Stiltner and Della Austin.

Survivors include his daughters, Paula (Nicholas) McCarl of Pa. and Tammy Mondrage of Nora; a son, Clinton (Lori) Yates of Haysi; grandchildren, Zachary Mondrage, Erica (Daman) Redenbach, Cole Yates, Hannah (Casey) Dye, Chance (Jessica) Yates, Cage Yates and Christian Yates; great-grandchildren, Declan, Lauren, Lilli Mae, Levi, Lennox, Marlee and Madelyn; sisters, Faye Richardson, Erma Wallace and Ernestine Swiney and brothers, Roger Yates and Benny Yates.

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jeff Tiller officiating. The family received friends after 6 p.m. Thursday evening prior to funeral service. A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at the JS Willis Cemetery, Haysi. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
