PRENCIE ATRESS WOOD TURNER

Prencie Atress Wood Turner, age 100, of Clinchco, passed away May 7, 2022 at Heritage Hall in Clintwood. She was the daughter of the date Andy Floyd and Lula Stanley Wood.  She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith and enjoyed quilting, doll-making, sewing Barbie doll clothes, collecting stuffed animals, circle word puzzles and gardening.  She enjoyed and loved seeing and talking with her kids and grandkids. One favorite pastime was her cat which she loved feeding and petting.  She loved her independence and was blessed with that until her recent illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Turner; four brothers and seven sisters; one son, Tivis Turner; two daughters, Glenda Shank and Gladys Teer and one grandson, Corbett Shank.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Cecil) Perrigan of Clinchco and Fern Turner of Big Stone Gap; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Jane baker and Julie Cooper; one brother, Roby Wood and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services were conducted at 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller, Jim Duty and Jimmy Counts officiating.  The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening prior to the funeral service.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Morgan Turner Cemetery, Road Branch, Clinchco. Grandsons, great-grandsons and great-great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

We love and will miss her very much and life will not be the same without her.  But we won’t say goodbye, but see you later.  Rest in peace sweet mom-Granny Turner.
