Paramont Contura, LLC of 5703 Crutchfield Drive, Norton, Virginia 24273 is applying to the Virginia Mined Land Repurposing Program for a renewal to Permit No. 1202160, Deep Mine 44, by Application 1011359. The site is approximately 26.96 acres situated in Dickenson County, approximately 3 miles southeast of McClure on Rush Branch, off State Route 674. Drainage will pass through sediment control structures and be discharged into Rush Branch of the McClure River. The Caney Ridge and Nora, Virginia USGS 7.5 minute quadrangle maps were used to describe the location of the permit area. Discharge locations and the permit area may be viewed on the Renewal Map which is attached in Section 21.2 of the application. Additional discharge details are available in the NPDES Application attached in Section 5.15 of the application.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of May 3, 2023, submit written comments or objections concerning this application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
