Paramont Contura, LLC is applying for bond release on Permit No. 1202203 located in Dickenson County 1.2 miles west of McClure on Caney Creek. This permit consists of 4.02 acres bonded under Cost Estimate. As provided by 4VAC25-130-800.40 of the Virginia Coal Surface Mining Reclamation Regulations, the Applicant is requesting that the current total bond amount of $10,000 in the form of insurance surety posted for this permit be released. The remaining 4.02 acres will be deleted.
This bond reduction request is based on the following Phase III reclamation: The areas proposed for bond reduction have been reclaimed and revegetated as of April 2016. The post-mining land uses of Unmanaged Forest/Undeveloped Land and Industrial – Gas well(s)/Pipeline(s) have been achieved.
Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of June 23, 2021 submit written comments or objections concerning this bond release, and may also request, in writing, that the Division of Mined Land Reclamation hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
