SELMA JOHNSTON

Selma Johnston age 95, of Dog Branch Gap, passed away Wednesday, June 16 at Heritage Hall in Clintwood. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, George Jack Johnston; her infant daughter, Terry; her parents, Walter and Belle (Branham) Puckett; her older siblings, Eura, Dixie, Georgie, Alvie, John, Rissie, Merica, Farrell and Nelson, and her younger siblings, Jearl, Thurlene and Joyce.

Selma, also fondly known as Selmer, Sammie, Sam and Aunt Sam is survived by her son, George Johnston; her daughter and son-in-law, Robin (Johnston) and Buck Charles; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jackie (Johnston) and Matthew Moore; her granddaughter, Trish (Johnston) Powers; her grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Chris and Angie (Lacey) Charles, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 17, 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, with Bill Rose officiating. Family received friends beginning at 6 p.m. Graveside services were at Presley Place Cemetery, Sutherland Ridge, Friday, June 18 at 1 p.m. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
