DIMPLE I YATES

Dimple I. Yates, 96, of Newburg, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her niece’s home in Newburg, surrounded by her loving family. Born Friday, October 31, 1925 in Aily, she was a daughter of the late Garland J. and Crisse Alafair Counts Yates.

She retired as an Elementary School Teacher from the Fairfax, VA School District.

In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, and two sisters.

Dimple was a member of the Chambersburg Church of Christ. She was a member of the National Education Association, and the Virginia Education Association. She was an avid reader and loved jigsaw puzzles.

Dimple is survived by two brothers, Bobby Yates of NC, and Charles Yates, Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Haysi Church of Christ with the Rev. Joshua Wenger officiating. Burial will be in Yates Family Cemetery, Haysi. Friends may call after 9 a.m. prior to service. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
