SANTO “SAM” GRILLO

Santo Grillo ‘Sam” age 85, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Grillo was born in Sicily, moved to America in 1957 and became an American citizen in 1958. He worked as a stone mason, coal miner for Clinchfield Coal and retired as a supervisor with RS Jones Construction Company. In 1966 he married the love of his life, Margaret Fleming. He loved time with family, woodworking and gardening.
Mr. Grillo was preceded in death by his parents, Placido and Grace Grillo, two siblings and four infant children.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Grillo of Clintwood; son, Anthony Grillo and wife Janet of Telford, Tenn.; granddaughters, Ashley Grillo of Chattanooga, Tenn., Samantha Garza and husband Caleb of Gulfport, Miss.; great-grandson, Casen Matthew Garza; two brothers; special brother-in-law, Sammy Fleming and wife Cathy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Mass was held Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Eric Baffour. Visitation was held at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be sent at www.clintwoodfuneralhomecom.
