RICKY “BIG RICK” ANDERSON

Ricky “Big Rick” Anderson, age 65 of Mount Olive Lane passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Charleston Area General Hospital, Charleston, WV.  Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Aubrey and Audrey Bowman Anderson.  He was a Haysi High School graduate and employed over the years as a coal truck owner/operator, co-owner of White Ridge Carryout and was last employed as store clerk at Triple T Grocery.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jessie James Anderson and Oliver Morgan (Bruz) Anderson and sister, Shelby Jean Amos.

Survivors include his sisters, Betty (R.C.) Baumgardner of Abingdon, Gayle (Terry) Barton, Brenda Powers and Rebecca Arrington all of Haysi; nephews, Keith Amos, John Amos, James Amos, Scott Anderson, Clay Woods, Bobby Baumgardner and Anthony Sutherland and nieces, Debbie Baumgardner and Caroline Anderson.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jody Breeding and Eddie Mullins officiating.  Burial followed in the Anderson Family Cemetery, Birchleaf. Pallbearers were James Amos, John Amos, Scott Anderson, Cody Anderson, Wesley Roark, Dalton Anderson, Bobby Baumgardner, Anthony Sutherland and Jody Arrington. Honorary pallbearers were Marty Senter, Corey Turner, Adam Wampler, Clay Woods, Keith Amos, Joe Edwards, Jack Rose, Jimmy Blankenship, Cody Blankenship, Hampton St.Clair, Terry Barton, R.C. Baumgardner, Brad Childress, Wes Hall and Willard Fletcher. A visitation was conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
