County reports 55 new virus cases

Dickenson County reported 55 new COVID-19 cases in one week.

On Aug. 2, the Virginia Department of Health reported a total of 3,738 cases since the pandemic began. As of yesterday, the number had increased to 3,793.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 52.
Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 33 in a week, from 5,198 Aug. 2 to 5,231 yesterday. Russell County’s total case count increased by 106 in a week, to 7,601. Wise County reported 11,800 cases since the pandemic began, an increase of 162 in a week.
