OPAL PHIPPS

Opal Phipps age 94, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Heritage Hall in Wise. Mrs. Phipps was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was a member of Pine Creek Church. She loved going to church, singing for the Lord and spending time with her church family.
Mrs. Phipps was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Susan Hogston Mullins; husband, Elcaney Phipps; five brothers and five sisters; many other relatives.

Survivors include her niece and caregiver, Vicky Phipps and husband Gary of Clintwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; best friend and roommate, Alice.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 16, 7 p.m. at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Frank Hall officiating. Burial will be Friday, November 18, Noon at Temple Hill Memorial Gardens, Castlewood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
