CHRISTINE M CARPENTER

Christine M. Carpenter, age 98, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home in Clintwood. 

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Callie and Samuel McClain; her husband, Bill Carpenter; and great grandson, Julian J. Williams.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Phil L. Carpenter (Charlene), Conover, NC, John M. Carpenter (Charlotte), Clintwood, and Gary D. Carpenter (Debbie),Kennesaw, Ga.; 4 grandchildren, Sarah C. Williams (John), Dana C. Hughes (Cal), Nathan M. Carpenter (Robin), and Kayla C. Sanders (Alan); 5 great-grandchildren, Elijah Williams, Layla Williams, Madison Sanders, Reid Carpenter, and Mason Sanders.

Services were conducted February 7, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with clergy Lester Mullins and R.J. Rose of The First Baptist Church of Coeburn. Burial followed in the Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Pallbearers were John Williams, Nathan Carpenter, Cal Hughes, Alan Sanders, Elijah Williams, and L.C. (Butch) Noe.
