JOHN WINSTON SKEEN

John Winston Skeen age 76, passed away May 3, 2023 at Asbury Place, Kingsport, Tn. Mr. Skeen was a lifelong resident of Clintwood. He was a graduate of Clintwood High School, Lincoln Memorial University and received a master’s degree from Virginia Tech. Mr. Skeen had a successful career in the educational field, he retired from teaching from Clintwood High School. He, also, served on the Dickenson County School Board. He loved sports cars and collected classic sports cars.
Mr. Skeen was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtle French Skeen.
Survivors include his brothers, Bill Skeen and wife Ginger of Wise, Mike Skeen and wife Lutishia of Clintwood; niece, Stephanie Skeen; nephews, Jaimie Skeen and Jordan Skeen; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 7, 3 p.m. at Clintwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Huffine officiating. Visitation began at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
