One new case

Dickenson County reported one new COVID-19 case between May 9 and Tuesday.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic increased from 4,940 to 4,941.

The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 71.
Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by three during the same period, from 6,240 to 6,243. Russell County’s total case count increased by 16 to 9,668. Wise County’s case count increased by nine to 14,113.
