Regional COVID rise goes on

Dickenson County reported 19 new COVID-19 cases between Sept. 5 and Tuesday.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, the county’s total number of cases since the pandemic began increased from 5,087 to 5,106 in one week.
The county’s number of COVID-19-related deaths remained at 73.

Nearby, Buchanan County’s total number of cases increased by 10 to 6,301 during the same period. Russell County’s total case count increased by 15 to 9,815. Wise County’s case count increased by 51 to 14,516.
