DIANA KAY ROSE

October 05, 2023

Diana Kay Rose, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2023. She was born in Dickenson County to the late Carl and Alice (Owens) Arrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Larry Rose and two brothers, Ronald Arrington and Rick Arrington.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Rose; son, Michael (Heather) Rose, and granddaughter, Michaela Rose, all of Haysi; one brother, Tony Arrington of Prater, and several nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Haysi High School in 1969, Diana moved with her husband to Ohio. She soon became very homesick and they moved back to Dickenson County, choosing to live near her parents. She spent her life as a homemaker and caretaker and was the most content just being at home, tending to her family. Her family gave her so much joy, and she made sure to let them know how much she loved them.  She liked to pass the time listening to country and gospel music - Keith Whitley and the Booth Brothers being particular favorites.  She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and always gave thanks and glory to God for the blessings in her life.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per her wishes, there was a simple graveside service followed by burial on Sunday, October 1, at 2 p.m. at the Carl and Alice Arrington Family Cemetery with Gary Wayne Owens officiating. Pallbearers were Jamie Arrington, Ricky Paul Arrington, Brandon Arrington, Tyler Kelley, Mickey Owens, and Jonathan Robinson. All family and friends were welcome to attend the service.
