Breaks Interstate Park Superintendent Austin Bradley, left, receives a nearly $80,000 grant check from Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority Executive Director Jonathan Belcher for park improvements. Specifically, the money will go toward repainting, repairs and improvements to the park’s existing potable water tank. Any funds remaining after the water tank improvements are made may also be used toward Phase II improvements to the Chafin Lodge, including fire suppression upgrades, the purchase of additional furniture, new flooring and/or for expansion of the gift shop.
