Martha Jane Yates Kelly, age 76, was born on April 21, 1947. She gained her heavenly wings on April 15, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by her children following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Lincous Yates and Dorthy (Deel) Yates. She was baptized on May 27, 1979 and was a faithful member of Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Blane Kelly; 3 sisters, Betty Jean Yates, Marylene Gay Yates, and Lucille (Yates) Skeens; 5 brother in-laws, Percy Yates, Benny Lynn Yates, Sr., Lee Kinder, Clayton Hackney, William Kyle Kelly, and Clayton Deel; 2 sister in-laws, Pansy Gail (Deel) Kelly, and Polly Jean (Kelly) Keen, and 3 nephews, Stacy Deel, William Kevin Kelly, and Eric Blake Kelly.

She is survived by her 4 children, Marsha (Randy) Yates of Maxie, Mona (Randy) Owens and Sarah (Terry) Nowlin both of Haysi, and Jammie (Linda) Kelly of Lancaster, SC; 9 grandchildren, Randy Jr., Stephanie, Brandon, Ranson, Jammie Jr, Cody, Brandeshia, Tabitha, and Justin; 14 great-grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Jailyn, Adalynn, Jordan, Maverick, Kyler, Kylee, Pricilla, Padence, Pierson, Logan. Leland, and Sophie; 3 sisters, Minnie Kinder, Katherine (Darrell) Coleman, Bessie (Jerry) Hargett; 1 brother, Andy Floyd (Carrol) Yates; 1 brother in-law, Johnny (Betsy) Kelly and 1 sister in-law, Peggy Joyce (Kelly) Deel and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders, Andy Deel, Mark Justice, Roger Coleman and Toy Looney officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery, Greenbrier. Pallbearers will be Randy Jr, Brandon, Ranson, Jammie Jr. Cody, Justin, Alex and Matt. Honorary pallbearers, D. Patel and members of Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday where evening services will be held at 7 p.m. both nights.
