Paramont Contura, LLC of 5703 Crutchfield Drive, Norton, VA 24273 is applying to the Virginia Division of Mined Land Reclamation for a Revision of Permit No. 1202198. This revision adds 14.35 acres and NPDES discharge monitoring points. The proposed operation will come within 100 feet of State Route 63. The site is located off of State Route 63 approximately 3.8 miles southeast of McClure on McClure Creek in Dickenson County. State plane northing and easting coordinates of the site are approximately 3,567,900 and 10,365,350, respectively. The Nora, Virginia USGS 7.5 Minute Topographic Quadrangle Map was used to describe the location of the proposed discharge area. The Revision Map showing the proposed permit area is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

Treated surface water runoff will pass through proposed sediment control structures: Pond 4/Outfall 004 and Pond 5/Outfall 005. Both outfalls will discharge to McClure Creek. The Surface Water Hydrology map shows the discharge locations and is attached in Section 21.2 of the application.

Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely affected by this proposal, or an officer or head of any federal, state or local government agency or authority, may within 30 days of June 26, 2024, submit written comments or objections concerning application, and may also request, in writing, that the Mined Land Repurposing Program hold an Informal Conference concerning this application.
