PAULINE BEVERLY
Pauline Beverly, age 97, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on July 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Forrest G. Brown and Daisy George Brown of Emma, Ky. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Beverly, Sr.; her sisters, Evelyn Brown and Viola Butler; her brother, Phillip Brown; and her grandson, Patrick C. Evans.
Pauline is survived by her son, Frank E. Beverly, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Nicewonder Beverly; her daughter, Barbara Beverly Evans and her husband, Thorald; her grandson, Nathan T. Evans and his wife, Kimberly; her granddaughter, Erin Beverly Jewett and her husband, Kevin; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Callum, Cooper, and Kamrynn Evans and Elijah Jewett; and her sister, Ruth Ann Hayes.
She attended business college in Johnson City, Tn. beginning in 1945 and worked as a bookkeeper in a succession of jobs, including Pound Hardware in Pound, where she met her future husband, Frank Beverly, Cumberland Bank and Trust Company in Clintwood, where she raised her family, and would retire from First National Exchange Bank and its successors in Roanoke. She enjoyed her retirement with her husband in Moneta, where they happily tended to their garden, pond, and many ducks.
Pauline was beloved by her family and friends, an endless source of care, support, encouragement, and love for her family. She was all sweetness and quiet strength and will be missed beyond measure.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Gordonsville United Methodist Church at 407 N. Main St. in Gordonsville, at 1:30 in the afternoon.
