After years of planning and construction, there are now Coalfields Expressway signs along the Virginia portion of the highway. The Virginia Department of Transportation erected signs at the end of the bridge at Grassy, at the Kentucky state line, and at the left turn off Route 744 going toward Breaks Interstate Park. Planning, funding efforts and construction of unfinished parts of the highway will continue for years. PROVIDED BY VDOT
