The book, My Buchanan Family, was written by Paul Buchanan. He has spent most of his life gathering information on his family to complete the book. It is available at the Dickenson County Historical Society.

Griffith says one debate is enough
On Sept. 4, the Virginia Department of Energy and Ninth District U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith presented a $525,000 check to Bird Dog Distributors LLC in Clintwood. The plastics manufacturer received a federal abandoned mine land economic revitalization grant for expansion that is expected to create up to 43 jobs over five years and support an additional 12 jobs, according to a press release.
