JOESPH "JOE" LEE ROSE

October 08, 2024

Joesph “Joe” Lee Rose of Chesapeake, WV, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on August 30, 2024. He was 38. And yes, his first name is spelled “Joesph.”
Joe was born in Wise, on December 12, 1985 to Euther “Joey” Rose and Lydia Owens. He lived in Clintwood for much of his life, and graduated from Ervinton High School in 2003. He worked a variety of surveying and AutoCAD positions before getting married and moving to Chesapeake, WV in 2015. Afterward, he graduated from WVU Tech in 2019 with his degree in Civil Engineering and earned his license as a Professional Engineer.
Joe was loved by anyone who met him, and this is not a statement made lightly. He was loved because his big smile came easy and could instantly brighten your day. He was loved because he was quick with a joke and it brought him joy to see people smile and laugh. He was loved because he was humble and kind, generous with what he had, and didn’t complain about what he didn’t have. He was slow to anger and quick to forgive. He was loved because he was happy and brave in his Christian faith. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 defines what love is, and there you will find Joe.
Joe also loved people, and enjoyed spending time with them in shared hobbies. Joe’s interests varied throughout the years, and included honing his skills as a grill master, playing his library of video games, SCUBA diving, riding motorcycles, attempting to play the fiddle, playing golf, chopping firewood, traveling to new cities, serving in church, lip-syncing to pop music, listening to audio-books on the way to work, and tagging along with his wife to go shopping for houseplants. He was also just as content to sit at home with his wife and cats and watch TV.
Most importantly, Joe loved God. His faith was strong and served as an example to those who knew him, especially to his wife. He trusted God completely, and his wish was that the people he loves come to know the comfort that a relationship with God can bring. He most recently attended South Ridge Church in Charleston, WV and considered Skeetrock Bible Church in Clintwood to be his home church.
Among those looking forward to a Heavenly reunion is his wife and best friend of nine years, Bridget Rose; his father, Euther Joey Rose and partner, Cathy Mullins, both of Clintwood; his brother, Zachary Lee of Clintwood; his two cats, Charlie and Ronnie; his father in-law, Rex Connard of Chesapeake, WV; sister in-law, Mallorie Connard; brother in-law, Nathaniel Harvey, and niece, Alexis Connard, all of Howesville, WV, and a whole bunch of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, church family, and co-workers, especially his most recent work family from E.L. Robinson Engineering.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Clintwood-Colley Funeral Home in Clintwood, officiated by Reverend Eddie Mullins. Burial will take place at a later date at Mullins Family Cemetery at Brooks Way, Clintwood.
