DANNY RAY PHIPPS

Danny Ray Phipps age 70, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. He was the son of the late Jackie and Doris Phipps, a lifelong resident of Clintwood, a graduate of Clintwood High School class of 1972, a coal miner retiring from Alpha deep mine #41 and a member of New Life Church, who loved his family, pets and riding horses.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Sammy Elkins.
Survivors include his wife Janie Stanley Phipps; sons, Daniel Phipps and Carson Fuller of Clintwood, and Chris Logan of Crown Point, In.; one brother, Shawn Phipps of Clintwood; two sisters, Pam Phipps of Clintwood, and Heather Robinson and Steve of Bristol; special nephew, Blake Stallard, along with K9 companions, Skip, Queenie and Moma. Danny loved dearly all his nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A Memorial Service was held at 1 p.m. Sat. Nov. 9, 2024 at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Don Hawkins officiating. The family received friends from 12 noon until service time.
