ELIZABETH "LIZ" ANN STANLEY

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Stanley Johnson, age 70, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Clintwood passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Liz was born on September 17, 1954, in Clintwood, to Ray and Pauline Stanley. She graduated from Ervinton High School and attended Mountain Empire Community College where she received her associate’s degree in respiratory therapy. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Norton Community Hospital, Dickenson Community Hospital, and Bristol Regional Medical Center under her retirement. She was of the born-again Freewill Baptist faith.
Liz and Jack met in Clintwood and were married on January 25, 1975. Jack loved her the moment he saw her. They cherished almost 50 years of marriage. They were blessed to have two daughters, Hollie Beth and Jackie Ann, and several grandchildren. Her grandchildren, Kinzton, Chancellor and Kennedy, were the epitome of love to her. She also loved to go shopping with her best friend, Rosalee Mooney.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Paul Benny Mullins, Harrison Stanley, and Johnny Stanley and one nephew, Sammy Ray Stanley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Jack; daughters, Hollie Beth Johnson and Jackie Ann Johnson; grandchildren, Kinzton Scott, Chancellor Scott, and Kennedy Suraski; sister, Melissa “Missy” (Scott) Stanley; brothers, David Lee (Lana) Stanley and Glenn Stanley; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rosalee Mooney.
A committal service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery in the Historic Section. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family via www.morrisbaker.com.
