Billy Arthur Boyd, age 81 of Boyds Ridge passed away, Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home. Born in Davenport, he was a son of the late Jim and Delphia Charles Boyd.
His greatest joy was attending church, singing for the Lord, his wife, children and grandchildren. He belonged in the body of Christ and regularly attended Free Christian Church of Big A Mountain and Unity Bible Church of Davenport and last employed as a coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son who was born months too early to live and his brothers, Frank, Ran, Tom and David.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Breeding Boyd; two sons, Roderick (Alison) Boyd, Davenport and Gary (Ramona) Boyd, Rosedale; grandchildren, Lyndsey, Logan, Julia and Aaron; one sister, Marge Boyd, Bee; three brothers, George, Hassel and Ray Boyd, all of Davenport; brothers and sisters by marriage, Delmer, Jessie, Billy, Jeanette, Danny, Lonnie and Barbara, many nieces, nephews and cousins and countless brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Funeral service will be conducted 12 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Haysi Funeral Home with Mike McGlothlin and Gary Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Breeding Cemetery, Boyd Ridge Road, Davenport. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
