Lester Allen Kiser, age 84 of Rainwater Trail, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Roland and Lottie Owens Kiser. He was a 1960 Haysi High School graduate, attended Peuther Chapel Church and was last employed as owner/operator of 4 Way Service Station.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Kiser; sister and brother in-law, Shirley and Jim Long; brother in-law, Blake Stanley; an infant son, Mark Allen Kiser, and an infant grandson, Thomas Logan Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Kiser; two sons, Wayne (Nikki) Kiser and Shawn (Tyra) Kiser; three daughters, Tonya (Tom) Baker, Lisa (Mike) Doyle and Heather (Tony) Edwards; three sisters, Fern (Farley) Deel, Connie Stanley and Gay Kiser; three brothers, Roger (Carol) Kiser, Morris (Anna) Kiser and Dorris (Judy) Kiser; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Funeral service was conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at Haysi Funeral Home with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. A visitation began at 6 p.m. prior to funeral service. Graveside service was conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Pallbearers were sons in-law, Mike Doyle, Tom Baker, and Tony Edwards, and grandsons, Michael, Colton, Kain, Klay, and Brycen, and special friend Wesley Elswick. Honorary pallbearers were Henderson Brock and Dicky Mullins. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
