INA JEAN HILL--CLINTWOOD

Ina Jean Hill, age 90, passed away at her home on August 3, 2025. She was born in Clintwood on October 5, 1934, to the late Vollie and Virgie Church. Mrs. Hill loved reading history about Dickenson County and talking about things the way they were when she grew up. She liked talking on the telephone with her friends and keeping up with the news and her church family. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family, which was her number one focus. Mrs. Hill was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. She was a member of the Pound Fork Primitive Baptist Church for many years.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, Vollie and Virgie Church; husband, Shelton Hill; daughter, Carolyn Sue Hill; daughter-in-law, Ella Hill; three brothers, Hester Church, Avery Church and Kendall Church; five sisters, Nettie Riley, Lorene Carter, Edna Lester, Velva Mullins and Connie Mullins.
Survivors include her son, Billy Hill; grandsons, Joey Hill and Chris Hill and wife Anna; great-grandchildren, Gracie Hill, Jacob Hill, Charlie Hill and Elijah Hill; special friend, Kitty Powers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 6, at 6 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Hoye Lester officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home, Thursday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m. to proceed to Phipps Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service at 11 a.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
