DOROTHY GAYLE DOTSON

Dorothy Gayle Dotson, age 77, of Clintwood, passed away Thursday, May 14, at her home, after a lengthy illness. A lifelong resident of Dickenson County. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lick Fork Freewill Baptist church. She worked for Dickenson Community Hospital for many years. She is preceded in death by her father, Cossie Mullins and her mother, Neneva Colley Mullins. Five sisters, Allene and Doit Stone, Florene and Reed Mullins, Betty and Billy Ray Mullins, Sue and Mike Fernando and Jenny Mullins.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Earl J. Dotson; two sons, Gregory and Tammy Dotson of Wise, Keith and Debra Dotson of Clintwood; four grandchildren, Zachary and Wilma Dotson, Hope Dotson, Jacob Dotson and Hannah Dotson; one great-grandchild, Archibald Dotson; one sister, Jewell and Bobby Joe Phipps; one brother, Harold and Gay Mullins.
A graveside service was held Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m., in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood with Matt Deel officiating. This service was held under the current COVID 19 guidelines and restrictions set forth by the governor of Virginia. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
