NORMA K. SUTHERLAND

Norma K. Sutherland born June 29, 1922 passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Heritage Hall, Wise, Virginia. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. She was a member of Mountain People and Places and also Clintwood Senior Citizens when she was able to attend. In her youth, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, hiking in the woods, hunting ginseng, writing poetry, and painting.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Kermit P. Sutherland; her eldest son, Ronald Sutherland; her parents, Dolphus and Dora Kiser and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors nclude her son, Russell T. (Lora) Sutherland of Clintwood; two granddaughters, Veronica Sutherland of Stafford and Katie Sutherland of Nicholasville, Ky.

The family received friends Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Yates officiating. COVID-19 guidelines were followed and masks were required. Burial followed in the Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood.
Pallbearers were Chris Justice, Jason Justice, Ryne Penley, and Bobby Hammons. Honorary Pallbearers were Anita Yates and Raymond Compton. Online condolences may be made at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
