OLLIE BLANCHE OQUINN

Ollie Blanche Oquinn, age 77 of Vansant, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at her home.  Born in Buchanan County she was a daughter of the late Arvil and Uva Viers Colley. She was owner and operator of Blanche’s Fashions and Rug Shop and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clay, Benny, Lee, Danny and Miles; a sister, Nell and a grandson Nathan Oquin.

Survivors include her children, Melissa (Harley) Colley of Haysi, Sherry (Gary) Frazier of Bluff City, Tenn., and Tony (Patricia) OQuin of Clintwood; grandchildren, Amber (Jason) Turner, Brandon Colley, Justin Frazier, Ryan Frazier and Nichole (Matthew) Yates; great-grandchildren, Hailey Turner and Grayson Turner; a brother, Lamar (Linda) Colley of Tennessee and sisters, Ruth (Donald) Estep and Priscilla Jackson both of Hurley.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Mullins officiating. Burial followed in the Colley Cemetery, Vansant. Family and friends served as pallbearers. The family received friends after 6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home prior to the evening service at 7 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
