LUSTER MULLINS

HAYSI — Luster Mullins age 78 of Bildell Drive passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at his residence. He was a son of the late Patton and June Mullins and was last employed as a coal miner. Luster was a member of the UMWA, and a longtime member and deacon for many years of the Bartlick Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jane Yates Mullins; son, Jimmy Mullins; brother, Bob Mullins and a sister, Suzie Mullins

Survivors include his son, Michael (Jessica) Mullins, Haysi; daughter-in-law, Liz (Ken) Deel, Haysi; a grandson, Michael Shannon (Emily) Mullins, Morehead City, NC; granddaughter, Sarah Adkins, Bristol and a great-granddaughter, Evie Johnson; four brothers, Ralph Mullins, Roy Mullins and Munroe (Becky) Mullins all of Haysi and Shannon (Linda) Mullins, of Council; three sisters, Cassie Edwards, Haysi, Dorothy (Dean) Deel, Prater and Betsy Stiltner of Tenn.; special friend, Sharon Potter, Elkhorn City, Ky. and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Rick Mullins, Ralph Mullins and Roger Coleman officiating. The family received friends after 6 p.m. prior to the funeral service. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in the Sweeney Mullins Cemetery, Little Lick Road, Haysi. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
